23 October 1999 - Still home after my appendix surgery. Expecting to
go back to work this coming week for a few days. Went to the surgeon yesterday
and things are healing. I can bend some and lift some things. Can't lift
anything heavy for another six weeks. No racing for several months but
this season's over anyway.
8 October 1999 - I was in the hospital the past two days as I
had surgery to remove my appendix. Didn't need it anyway! While I'm in
some pain now during the day wednesday it was unbearable. Currently I can't
bend or lift anything. Getting in or out of bed takes ten minutes. But
I'm still breathing!
